By 2020, bilateral trade had more than tripled in the <a href=\"https:\/\/policy.trade.ec.europa.eu\/news\/eu-and-mexico-celebrate-20-years-partnership-joint-press-release-2020-10-23_en\">20 years since the Global Agreement entered into force<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2016, the EU and Mexico decided to modernise the EU-Mexico Global Agreement in a comprehensive and ambitious manner. The European Services Forum adopted its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esf.be\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/EU-Mexico-FTA-modernisation-ESF-priorities-19-April-2017-Final.pdf\">Position Paper on the EU services sectors priorities in April 2017<\/a>. They concluded the final technical details on public procurement in April 2020.
